Even before COVID-19 was considered a pandemic, UW Medicine’s staff was responding to the need for testing and treatment. UW Medicine Advancement quickly pivoted all our work to support our frontline responders, the largest testing lab in Washington and start mobile vans to provide testing and vaccinations throughout the community.

One year after the start of the pandemic, we followed up individually with donors to the COVID-19 emergency funds, and shared the impact of philanthropy broadly. We let our donors know their generous gifts fueled breakthroughs in prevention, testing, treatment and vaccine development. UW Medicine made all of this progress because of their generosity.
